I'm about to purchase this sofa Reese Sofa - Sofas - Living Spaces - Room & Board and need some help figuring out which coffee and side table to get to match it. My budget will be around $0-600 max for two tables. Any suggestions? I'm going with the sofa in "spice".
So far i'm looking at CB2.com , Crate and Barrel , West Elm and Ikea.
All you have to do to post a working link is go to the web page you want to link and copy the entire address (url) line and paste it to your post - that's it.

Cool couch. Why "Spice"? I looked at all of the colors and thought that "Spice" would be the most dificult to work with. Personally, I'd go for "Natural" or "Gunmetal". That's just me.
Back to your question....if you scroll through the other images on the page, you kind of have your answer. Before buying new, I'd scour the thrift stores and yard sales. I have a vintage Lane MCM side table that would be rockin' with your couch, and I think I paid $15 for it.
Do a google image search for "saarinen table", "noguchi table" and "knoll table" and imprint those images on your brain (or send 'em to your iPhone if you have a poor memory). Then hit the streets. Even a vintage "knock off" of one of the great MCM masters will be nicer than much of the new stuff you find out there.
Good luck and have fun. The Hunt is part of the game.
That kind of thing really depends on where you live. You simply cannot find vintage MCM around my neck of the swamp. Believe me; I've looked hard for it.
As for the original question, I'd think walnut/walnut stain or something similarly dark and thin legs to tie it back in to the sofa legs.

I have a friend who found a Bertoia chair on the curbside for the garbage collection. NO JOKE. I'm in the Midwest. I've thought about starting an "export business". "Save Our MCM!"
I want to lean towards something more ikea so that I could put a drink on it and it not be ruined with water rings when a coaster isn't used. I've looked at several vintage pieces but "What if" something gets spilled on the wood or it gets scratched. I don't want to be the one to ruin a great piece. I'm probably just crazy

You're crazy. There, does that make you feel better?
If you find something vintage, LOVE and enjoy it. You can buy cute cocktail napkins, both cloth and paper.
It's meant to be used.
You can always invent some sort of "provenance": "I think Frank Sinatra once used this table at his house in Palm Springs?" and fly with it.
This type would go well with the couch, which has a very modern look to it.
