I bought my last rug at Target. It has wow factor. They have many vibrant patterns and I am falling in love with Target all over again.

Fieldcrest® Luxury Jacobean Floral Wool Rug Collection - Brown : Target

The rug before that was from Home Depot. January is a good month for home sales. Home Depot and Lowes will have good deals on large rugs for a lot less. Special buy items that are normally not offered.

Good luck. Hope to see pictures when it is all done.
I personally would go for the above rug in red as it has greens, creams and blue in it. Great to pick colors from.
In the store it is beautiful and has a great textured "relief"- great price too IMO.

Fieldcrest Luxury Rugs : Fieldcrest Luxury : Brands : Target

Would go for the 10' x 6'6 or maybe bigger if in the budget and room will take it.

Also check out rugs at TJ Max and Home goods.

I got a lovely wool 5x7 rug at TJ for $129.

Lowes rugs were poor excuses IMO- all synthetic, no luxury to them- and not cheap at all apart from a SPECIAL they had-all wool, 5'x7' brown sculpted squares rather like some at IKEA. Was $99.

It would look better to replace one of the couches with two arm chairs and a small table. Someone on your other post suggested that and it is a good suggestion. You could always move one couch against one of the walls to give the room some balance (some weight on one of the walls versus all the weight in front of the fireplace). I also like several conversation areas within a living/family room. If you have the money to purchase two chairs, one counch and two chairs makes for a more interesting combination. Also - mixing the leather furniture with other furniture with fabric and wood is a good decorating choice. The two couches together are very bulky, too dark, no airiness, too much leather. If you aren't able to purchase a couple of arm chairs, then that is perfectly understandable. I think we all need to live and make choices within our means.

The room needs a big area rug like stated before.
one thing:
How comfortable is it to sit and or lay on any of your couches and watch TV.
It seems way to high for the eyes to be in the looking up position for a long period of time.??

The tv is on a stand now. If I moved the couches from being parallel, would it look weird having one against the window on the wall? I really don't have another room for the couch in any other room.

As far as rug colors, the wood blinds have a sage green fabric running down them and my dining room across the hall is Behr Restless (a light green). Should I make green the main accent color for the rug because of all the green influences to draw from?

Now that I know whats up with colors, here are some suggestions. (Pulled these all from one site, similar styles are everywhere!)

Constantine Area Rug - Traditional Rugs - Wool Rugs - Rugs | HomeDecorators.com

Warwick Rug - Traditional Rugs - Wool Rugs - Rugs | HomeDecorators.com

Philyra Area Rug - Hand-tufted Rugs - Wool Rugs - Rugs | HomeDecorators.com

Moorland Rug - Synthetic Rugs - Hand-tufted Rugs - Rugs | HomeDecorators.com

I think I would throw a bit of cinnabar into the room as accents to warm it up.
The browns, greens and cinnabar is a classic color combo, it never becomes dated.

I really like the 3rd one, I really wouldnt do blue and green together.
Make sure you measure the area your furniture sits on, you want the rug to be large enough so everything doesnt look cramped, you know?
ETA: wrong rug, I mean the 4th one!!!!!!
