I never have enough room for my clothes!

We have a very nice quality bedroom set, not one of those cheap little sets.

I was eyeing up hubby's chest of drawers and wondered if it was bigger than my dresser.

I took a measuring tape to them and discovered he has FIVE EXTRA SQUARE FEET of storage space than me!

I'm thinking about switching but I doubt his clothes would fit in the dressers.

I've come to the conclusion that dressers are utterly useless.

Now I want to buy all new bedroom furniture, but that's not going to happen in the near future.

What to do!?!?!?!!

Hopes, I completely understand. My daughter and I were just talking about that very same thing!! It's not as if we have a tremendous amount of clothes, it's just that MOST dressers "look" big but don't have nearly as much functional space as they should have. It's frustrating!

Ha! We just finished switching the clothes!

Hubby now has the dresser with extra room to spare. I now have the chest with more space but still not enough space.

This is the main reason laundry doesn't get put away. There's no room for everything! I'll start purging.

My next bedroom furniture will be all big chests! I love those tall dressers that are as tall as chests but as wide as dressers.

Somday! Somday!

Just when I thought I didn't have enough room in the chest, I emptied another huge basket of laundry.

I might be able to pull this off after all.

Maybe that's what you need ( if your bedroom is big enough)

We have his and her closets too! We don't even have all of our clothes out. Half of our clothes are stored in the attic. Right now, winter is in bedrooms and summer is in the attic. In a few months, I'll be switching them again.

I don't feel like I own a lot of clothes but I guess I do. My pajamas took up most of the dresser. Hubby couldn't understand. I wear a different pair every night. I just counted. I have 21 pair of pajama bottoms---and that doesn't count what's in the laundry or the pajama shorts and nightgowns, etc. I have a bunch of different short and long sleeved t-shirts I wear with them. So I basically have an entire wardrobe devoted to sleeping which took up the majority of my dresser. Then there is an entire casual wardrobe. And an entire dressy wardrobe. Then there is the semicasual stuff to bridge the two. All of this for each season. I have three drawers just for socks, and that's not even all of my socks. I could go on and on.

I don't use my dresser anymore. I don't even know what's in there right now. I have a closet with lots of shelves & cubbies so I have all of my sweaters, jeans, t-shirts and jammies folded on those. I have my intimate items in big square baskets also on the shelves (bras in one, panties in one, socks in one, etc.). I love this system so much better than my dresser. I can see everything I have so I don't need to dig through drawers and I also have a lot more space. My husband has also switched over to this system.

Hopes, I laughed out loud at the idea of measuring the chest and dresser to see who had more. :-) (Reminds me of when kids want to measure pieces of cake to make sure Mom didn't give Johnny a sliver more than Janie!)

The house I am likely going to move into (seller & I just agreed on terms TODAY, yay!!!!!) has 9 large clothes closets plus at least 2 large linen closets (plus a 3-car garage). Several of the clothes closets are walk-in; one has a whole wall of cubbies (the seller told me they were sized for bankers' boxes, but my first thought when I saw them was, SWEATER STORAGE!). The problem is that none of the closets has been updated (i.e. the clothing space just has a rod and a top shelf). The good news is that I enjoyed updating the closets in my current house so I am actually looking forward to doing that at the new house. I may just tackle one a month for the first year I'm there!

Love that site with the built-in's -- I will be looking for more ideas for closets after I move in 2-1/2 months!!
