You'd have to make sure the curtain stayed "in the tray" so to speak, or you'll have a big wet mess. I think it would be easier to do that with a straight rod.
The home I just bought has a rounded curtain rod in just such a tub. I must say at first I wanted to remove it since I felt it looks strange from the outside, but when I saw how much it cost to install I decided that since it was there already and it is in the guest bath, I would leave it alone. Little did I know that I would grow to LOVE it when I showered and it is now my shower of choice.

Same here. I have curved rods in both bathrooms and love them.
We put a curved rod in a downstairs bathroom when we updated. The tub and enclosure was the standard rectangular shape. It looked great, and made the b/room look more custom.
