My partner has a strong believe in feng shui and she doesn't like large mirrors facing the bed. Do you think one can nicely cover the mirrors with wallpaper? Of course, the room will be painted with a color that goes well with the wallpaper.

Something like this wallpaper covering three sliding closet door mirrors?

Please give some advice on other solutions.

Thanks,

UGLY. Did I say uggg-leeee? There are better remedies such as paint or semitransparent films that make excellent overlays.

Wallpaper is generally designed to adhere to a properly primed wall -- that usually means having paint / primer on drywall or plaster.

If you try to apply regular wallpaper to GLASS you will find that is exceedingly difficult to get it to "grip" and it will slide around terribly. If you have the skills of a "Zen Master" you MIGHT be able to get the right alignment of the wallpaper long enough for the adhesive to dry but frankly I would look at other options.

My gut says it would be cheaper to get net closet doors than it would be have them "wrapped" with fancy advertising grade vinyl -- Adhesive Vinyl Wrap for Glass, Windows and Walls

TRUporte 48 in. x 80 in. 100 Series Vinyl Interior Sliding Door-100 - The Home Depot -- low end
Impact Plus 48 in. x 80 in. Smooth Flush Solid Core Cherry MDF Interior Closet Sliding Door with Matching Trim-CS3424068 - The Home Depot -- still cheaper than wrap ...

You could try a fabric cover. If the door is wood, you could staple it to the edges of the door, or if you take the doors down, you could wrap it around and staple it to the back of the door.

Here is what I had in mind (see post #2). Search for 'decorative window film'. I personally don't care for the colored versions, but the frosted ones look okay.

That new peel and stick wallpaper might work on a mirror. I would make fabric panels and attach them to the mirrors with strips of heavy duty velcro.

Don't won't to spend the money to replace the doors, and wallpaper is a cheap alternative-

Apply the paper with spray adhesive. Obviously using wallpaper paste isn't going to work (though it would make for easier removal if you wanted to go back. The spray adhesive can still be removed, it's just a lot more work!

I wouldn't stick anything to a mirror; it might peel the painted mirror off the glass when it's removed.

If it means that much, take the doors down and cover the closet with curtains.
