We are doing a major remodel on our house which brings several different workers on site. I have been wondering if it is the norm to give out tips to the guys after a good job and if so how much or what percentage? We have given a little something at the end of a job but always wondered if it was enough. If it's a big job a percentage could make the tip quite large. Would appreciate any advice! Thanks so much!

Unless they did something "above and beyond" the scope of the contract, I wouldn't.

For our major remodel, we gave them food and drinks while they were here, and let them use our bathroom. They were happy with that!
Two workers went above and beyond... they got gift cards to a local restaurant.

I was an electrician for 8 years. Not once was I ever given a tip, nor would I ever expect to get one....granted most of the time I was a sub and never even met the owners

Food and drink was really it. I once got a nice bottle of whiskey for getting a job done for a guy at last minute.

I did always offer drink(s) to the last remodelers (water, Gatorade and one guy drank Mountain Dew) - also gave the roofing guys (after the days work) a beer and snacks.

We had to have two 65' spruce trees taken down after Super Storm Sandy, they were threatening the house.
Three guys showed up at 8AM on Sat. morning, we got them a box of coffee and a dozen donuts for breakfast and then subs and soda for lunch.

We called the owner of the tree service to express our satisfaction with the job and have used them ever since for the many trees in this yard.
