Probably not-

A lot depends on the prep of the surface which it is going to cover. Perimeter gluing doesn't take as much "skill" as full glue-down, but that doesn't mean it's a DIY project either.

I wouldn't take it on and there's little I wouldn't take on.

The two things I definitely won't do myself are tile and laying sheet flooring. In both cases you pay a lot for the material and it takes experience to make it look good. I really don't want to pay for all that material and then have it look like poo just because it's the first time I have ever done it rather than the 20th. (I know that after I had laid 20 tile floors or sheet floors, I would probably do a pretty good job. But the first time out, not so much.)

With sheet flooring the things that make me nervous are: getting it cut just right at corners, especially when the area is tight and irregular with inside and outside corners near each other; bubbles; and the risk of getting the whole pattern skewed just a bit so the whole thing looks bad.

I don't think the installation cost for sheet vinyl in a single room will be very high. I suggest you have a pro do it.

My husband and I have done it in three houses and the results were beautiful. It did take two of us to do the job. The flooring we used was good quality. Honestly there is not much my husband can not do around the house. Do you have someone to help you?

I can take on practically home DIY, but I'd much rather do luxury vinyl planks than sheet vinyl. It is an easier DIY, will look better right away, be easy to repair if necessary (buy extra planks), and look better down the line.

I love sheet vinyl. It’s really the only waterproof flooring there is. Anytime you have seams, no matter what the material, you can have seepage. But SV is really not a DIY project.

Yes, and the answer to the OP question "Is sheet vinyl easy to lay for a DIY?" is "no."

You will likely struggle to find a pro to do one room. Most would not take "small jobs" in my experience.

I don't think it would be easy for a first timer just from watching it done. Definitely would be easier with 2 people.

And that is what I said. What's your issue?

I agreed with you. That's why I started with "yes, and..." That's agreement.
