My daughter had her wood floors refinished on Mon-Wed. This Saturday morning a few pieces of furniture are being delivered. She is worried and tried to change the delivery date but they said its on the truck already for the morning. Do you think that is enough time as to not damage the floors? The central air has been blasting for the past couple of days.
You don't say where she lives but how humid has it been? That might be the determining factor, if they were my floors. I agree, a place not a drag, either way.
Consider rolling out brown craft paper to walk on while carrying the furniture and setting it down gently on the floors in inconspicuous locations...like the garage if possible, LOL.
We live in New Jersey....hot humid week here. Weekend will be a lot better. Thanks for the responses. We will cross our fingers and be very very careful.
i dont think things dry that good with air conditioning on, JMO.......but I know the humidity is terrible here in brooklyn also......
and as im typing this the humidity is finally going away and I actually have the kitchen window open with a cool breeze, jersey is most likley like this now as well......
How quickly it dries will depend on the type of finish used. A water based product should be fine. An oil-based finish could be a bit iffy still if it's been humid.
In our last house we had a water based finish. We moved in a couple of days after it was done. This house has an oil based finish. No one was allowed in the house for a week.
nothing worse than having floors done, then get ruined on day one......................................
