Do you not consider "white" an accent color?

Yes the crown molding is SW extra white. Just want a bit of contrast

We did a darker shade of the same color as our walls in our LR and Solarium...we did a bronze ceiling and light cream wall combo in our dining area. Our reasoning (well, MY reasoning...hubby didn't care lol) was that b/c the crown molding was so large and white already that the dark ceiling would make it "pop" more. Now, had the crown molding been kept it's original (stained and shellac) then we would have kept the white ceiling.

A paler shade of blue would also be nice. I love blue ceilings - I have several of them myself, inside and out!

Blue and brown is a good combo. I would consider a deeper shade of beige...….like a café au lait color or the color of a paper grocery bag. The SW card for moody blue has a coordinating color called Ecru that looks like it would work.

It also shows a coordinating light blue called Topsail which would work but might be too cool in a north facing room.

I would consider matching the bathroom to the ceiling color.

Just my personal opinion, but I would never paint a ceiling anything other than some shade of white. Anything else is weird and even slightly claustrophobic.

A old painter's trick...

When you wanted a hue of wall color in the ceiling "white", painters would add a cup (8oz) of the wall color to a gallon of the white ceiling paint. Of course there are some colors that this doesn't work well with- like red!

I think it depends on the size of the room and the lighting. We have 9.5' ceilings here and a ton of windows. The dark gray ceiling with light gray walls and the large white trim really ended up looking nice. I looked at a ridiculous amount of pics online for ceiling colors and the dark ceiling / light wall combo really jumped out at me...never would have thought I would have painted a ceiling dark gray lol!

I am sure that would work with her walls, but not so sure it would look great with the trim.

Honestly, I’d go with a lighter hue of the wall color.
