As a family, we prefer carpet in all bedrooms. We also have carpet in a second floor rec room and that is also strongly preferred as the kids like to sit on the floor and the wall to wall muffles sound.

LVP is an awesome flooring product. We had it in a bath before renovating all the baths and going with a vintage mosaic tile. not because lvp was poor in any way, but because we were going in a different design direction.

I'm happy for you. That doesn't diminish my opinion.

I agree and given the relative low-cost differential between a supposed quality LVP and engineered hardwood, am baffled by that choice.

We have vinyl plank in our kitchen, and love it. When we were looking, I asked questions, and was told to NEVER put real wood in a kitchen...unless you want to replace it all if the dishwasher leaks, etc. Replacing part of a wood floor is always an option, but matching what you already have down, is difficult. Anyway, my thoughts.
