As a family, we prefer carpet in all bedrooms. We also have carpet in a second floor rec room and that is also strongly preferred as the kids like to sit on the floor and the wall to wall muffles sound.
LVP is an awesome flooring product. We had it in a bath before renovating all the baths and going with a vintage mosaic tile. not because lvp was poor in any way, but because we were going in a different design direction.
Our home sold for $100K over asking. I just checked sold homes in our area and the only one that sold at a higher price was a flipped home that had been stripped down to the studs and totally rebuilt.
I'm happy for you. That doesn't diminish my opinion.
There is nothing that will ever replace hardwood floors, EVER. That said, Vinyl planking or tile is very popular.
We have vinyl plank in our kitchen, and love it. When we were looking, I asked questions, and was told to NEVER put real wood in a kitchen...unless you want to replace it all if the dishwasher leaks, etc. Replacing part of a wood floor is always an option, but matching what you already have down, is difficult. Anyway, my thoughts.
I have porcelain 14 x 14 tiles ,if there is a flood,I should be fine.
It is also easy to clean.
Europeans have carpet in their bedroom and the rest of the house is hardwood
We too….replacing ceramic we put in 35 years ago….all baths, kitchen, laundry…bedrooms wall to wall
Anything vinyl screams cheap
