I hate faux people.

But I do like pink flamingos and garden gnomes

You might wanna reconsider. A faux person is very handy if you like a quiet commute but still want to avoid traffic in the carpool lane.

I think that it depends on the faux artist. I have worked along with incredible faux artists that create miraculous things. Leonard Pardon's work can be quite amazing as is other lesser known faux artists.

You have a very cute sense of humor

Funny--this sort of came up at work the other night. Someone asked what was in the box that made it so heavy to pick up.

I replied, "Shelves--pressboard, fake shelves. You think it's heavy now, you should see what happens when that stuff gets wet."

Not only does it start absorbing the water, making it heavier, it starts falling apart. Real wood shelves, as long as they don't get dried out, are much better.

This reminds me of the fad for "antique-ing" furniture in the '70's. I remember my mom hunting down furniture in antique shops and flea markets so that she could "antique" it. Ugh! She regrets it now...

I'm completely with you on this one. I hate faux anything including paint.
