Sage is a pretty neutral color. Not trendy anymore, it's a good color choice if it is a light sage instead of just bright white, for say a house on the market for sale, say in a small bathroom. It's not a shocking color, because people are used to it by now, but it's also not as bland as white. It's a "safe" color for selling a home.

Although the color trends/forecasts are important, you can always put a fresh spin on any color with contemporary accents and a minimalist approach. I think it's more about colors complementing the individual space...

...and also about working with the furniture you have and the style of the house. My house is a 1950s brick ranch so some styles do not look right in here. The house has had very little updating decor-wise since the 50s so it is very much a time capsule. I try to work with it rather than against it and accentuate its period features, which people love. But you don't have to worry about that with a new build.

Jessamy, I was asking, because when I get this home done, sage might not be an "In" color.

BigDGeek, agreed about the house being period. mines not.

thanks again everyone.

Sage -- or any color -- is "in" for as long as you are enjoying it on your walls.

I've started my own trend of getting rid of color on walls and just doing some nice neutral colors. I had like a tangerine color in my hallway and just painted it Kilim Beige from SW this weekend. It just looks so much better. I've always done what I liked but I think I am ready to get rid of all the bold colors and just enjoy my lighter brighter walls.
