According to all the info I could find all 2004 Civic LX's had "Selective Locking/Unlocking Via Remote Keyless Entry".
The only manual I have is pre-2000. My understanding is they may have all been built with the receiver but not necessarily programmed and supplied with remotes.
Programming a remote is pretty straightforward and there are several websites/forums that have that information.
No, they are not all built with receiver, but they are all prewired for it. Reason being, it is more cost efficient to do single harness, instead of making them for every option - or lack of it.
Receivers are inexpensive and easy install, they are usually right in the center of the center console/dashboard, behind storage compartment. You have to have small hands to get there, yet. Plug will be taped to the harness, so cut tape and it will "unveil" itself.
But does your car have power door locks? As what's the point then?
What you want to do is to go a dealer, give Mr Nice your VIN number and they'll tell you all you need to know.
yes it does have power door locks but driver side door wont lock when its open so i have to use the key every time to lock it from outside
on the other hand its good because you can never lock the key inside no matter how you try
