I have found framed mirrors that are 65" long at places like TJMaxx Homestore and also Kirklands at very reasonable prices. It looks fine to have a framed mirror that doesn't span the entire length of the vanity. Also 2 framed mirrors -- each hanging over a sink if you have a double sink vanity -- looks great and if you want to be even more fancy you can put a wired in sconce on one side of each framed mirror, with a single one in between the 2 mirrors.

We had them in on three walls in our master bathroom when we bought the house. I felt like I was in a hotel bathroom. I had them removed and hung oval mirrors over the sinks.

For a quick (cheap) fix you could always cut molding to make a frame and then liquid nail it on.

Agreed. Those huge mirrors were the style in the 60's and 70's but look horribly dated now especially in that large of a size. I would just remove it and put in a couple framed mirrors. They are not that expensive and will make the room look a million times better then anything you could do to the current one.

We took ours out of the master years ago when we had the wallpaper taken out and the whole room textured and painted. My vanity is over 6' in length and I have one large single framed mirror over it centered w/ the new light fixture over it. My husbands vanity is about 4' in length and he has the same mirror over his w/ new lights.

Painter starts this week upstairs repainting the kids rooms and bathrooms. We kept their full mirrors last time we painted but not this time. They are coming OUT and framed mirrors are going in. Both girls want something like this wide framed mirror in their room that they saw at a store. I'm going to use two of the smaller vanity mirrors and frame them and then do the frame myself (I'm pretty crafty) and save a me a ton of money.

I found the mirrors for our master bath at Hemispheres. They are owned by Hobby Lobby so look there as well and every few weeks they should be on sale for 50% off. To make the mirror look bigger than it is just make sure to go with a WIDE heavy frame. This will make the mirror look bigger/longer than one w/ a small frame.
