My name is Cory and I just joined the site a few moments ago. I closed on a home last week and I am excited. However, since it was a foreclosure, it does need a few things fixed up. First things I need are a new front door and a back door.
I am a single 28 year guy, sooooo I'm sure you can conclude that I do not know a darn thing about decor and all that stuff that makes houses pretty. If anyone can provide suggestions for the type, style and color of door I should go with, it would be much appreciated.
Appears to be a realtively new home. Front door appears to be a large simulated diivided light door. Probably not the most secure in an area wth a lot of break-ins but hardly an invitation for trouble. I suppose it is not high on "privacy factor" -- even with a shade to block the view if you have pets or just don't like people seeing your shadows moving around inside not the best choice...
The unit you have appears to have at least a single sidelight. To replace this the general method is to remove the wholeunit with sidelight(s) and install a whole need "pre-hung" unit. That could easily cost more than $1K for materials per opening.
I would thing look and hard about this.
If the door is not properly sealing you may be able to track down a tradesperson skilled in repairing such a unit.
First. Why do you think you need new exterior doors?
Both doors are damaged - there are multiple screw holes and severe dents on the indoor sides of the doors along with dents and cracks on the frame as well. Bottom line...security concern.

Thank you for responding. The door has a L and R sidelight. I am already set/prepared to have the door replaced and went to home depot for rough pricing. So far I'm looking at 1k for a basic door and basic clear glass sidelights. I was more concerned of choosing the right door style and color that will properly match the house. The door is damaged with several holes on the inside along with some cracks and big dent in the frame on the inside. Kind of looks like whoever lived there didn't give a crap when they moved their stuff out and almost busted through the door. If it was not a security concern for me, I would consider holding off for a while since I am a cheapskate.
If the jamb is in good shape and there is no signs of a forced entry- just replace the door.
12 lite doors are quite popular here in the metro area- the bad part of your particular unit is the full-lite side lites; instead of the 3/4 or 4lite side lites that match/align with the door. That's a typical bonehead move production builders do because those side lites are cheaper.
When ordering a replacement door measure the hinge locations from the top edge down- that way the hinge location on the jamb will match.
Easy as cake- piece of pie; when you ask the right question(s).
You also need to check with the HOA- any changes (including color) that you make to the exterior will need approval.
Agree with you. This door also goes well with the windows.
