It isn't much of a problem. Just wear long sleeved clothes, wash them separately, several times, and if you can work in a dust mask, do so. I removed all the fiberglass insulation from my unfinished attic floor, vacumned underneath it, put it all back and then floored my entire attic! Not a problem.

I was cautioned against doing pretty much anything in our attic(s) (*) since the "joists" "beneath" what would be the attic floor were not designed to support much weight in that manner (they're really for supporting via who-knows-what force vectors the roof).

Placing, say, a path of narrow thick plywood from entrance to wherever is probably okay in our attic, but full area coverage and use is for sure a no-no.

(*) We have an overhead area above our garage as well.

Contractor checked it out beforehand and I do only use it for light storage but the joists are 16" on center with 12' span to adobe interior supporting walls so hopefully, I'm ok. Thanx for the info.
