Its time to paint this house. Its a rental house I've owned for a few years. I am not going to change the color (which is a soft green) because its "ok" and just easier to keep it the same. However the trim around the edge of the (white roof but was new on the house at purchase) house might look cuter with a color. There is some trim boards between the soffits and the top edge that are now painted a darker Khaki that might look better with brown or a red tone. The doors are a deep red that I like.

Any color tips and also paint brand suggestions for painting over painted brick?

My bet would be that the paint that is already on it is latex-
Which would be the paint to "stick" with- pun intended.

There are "better" paints for brick but, if the substrate (the existing paint) is latex then a "better" paint will not afford you anything better!

As the old rule of thumb goes-

"A good paint job is in the prep, not the paint."

I would like to see larger pictures - and much closer pictures. Looking at the little pictures that you have posted shows nothing, really.
I can help you if I could see what you're dealing with.

Can't attach anything larger, I keep getting error messages that I must constrain the photos within certain parameters. It took many crops and reconfiguations just to get these photos to attach. Thanks anyway.

I think a barn red on the trim would look great!

I had a rental house that some previous owner had painted. I cleaned it up, patched all the bigger cracks and then used this stuff -- Elastomeric Masonry, Stucco, and Brick Paint | Behr Paint or whatever was the equivlent about 10 years ago and the stuff was excellent...
