I asked this over in the renting forums, but thought I would ask here too:
If you are moving out of an apartment that has a bug problem, i.e., ants, can you move "with" them? Meaning do I have a possibility of bringing them to my new place?
I know it is unlikely because you would need to move with the "queen ant" or the nest, but I am just curious...
You might have the stray ant hitchhike on something, but without the colony, which is down in the ground, they will be dead and gone real soon. Unless there are carpenter ants in wood furniture or something. But jus the little sugar ant style ants, they get food and go back to the nest, rinse, repeat.
Fleas will come along for the ride too. But Ats generally prefer not to relocate without the entire colony. They don't usually nest inside of a house but are usually outside and come in looking for food or to escape a high water table if there has been a lot of rain.
