Oh and this loveliness - this is what happens when you cram three rooms of stuff into one room. Yes, this is my dining hall - notice I didn't say kitchen because I have no appliances other than a coffee maker and toaster in there!
Enjoying this and can relate to the mess as we gutted and total redid our kitchen and adjoining family room years ago. Thankfully it was summer and gave me a reason to talk DH into a nice new grill which we used a lot during that time.
I LOVE those green cabinets and I can totally relate to your "storage area." Only all of our things were packed into my 4-year-old's bedroom. Ugh. Thankfully she's too young to remember this trauma. At least I hope.
I can't wait to see how your kitchen comes along. I know four weeks seems like a long time but it will be so worth it!
Congrats Kathryn! I hope they do a good job. How did you find the contractor?
Thank you!
I found the contractor via word of mouth. I interviewed her and I could tell she "got" what I visualized for the room. She has a good reputation locally. I had her do a smaller project and she did it so well that I felt comfortable using her for the larger one. So far, absolutely zero complaints! DEFINITELY worth the 20 percent contractor fee! She passes on her contractor discounts anyway, so in the end the upcharge for her expertise and being bonded, etc. costs about ten percent of the project's costs. Well worth it in my opinion.
Hoping you will be happy, but De Gustibus Non Est Disputandum.
