help with tile work
I am remodeling my bathroom(its a new home) and am considering putting tile around my tub and on the walls surronding my tub. The question is how do i put tile on the front of the tub,its about 2 feet tall 5 foot long and the front of the tub is that shiny white fiberglass imitation tile pattern. I was told that i could scuff up the fiberglass to get the shine off and use a good Liquid Nails with my caulk gun to affix each tile to the fiberglass then grout it as normal. Any help would be great.

I would not tile a fiberglass tub, it flexes and grout will crack.... Then you have the top edge of the tub to contend with, not a pretty sight.

Yep, I agree with Bones!! Do not tile over that! You'll need to build a frame around the front and use a thin waterproof wallboard to build a surface to tile onto. You could do the framing with split 2X4's to reduce the footprint you'll be taking up.

Ack! Yeah, don't try that. Stormcrow is on the right track. But I'd recommend taking your question here. These guys are awesome and really know their stuff.
