I have an issue with water leaking into the first floor bathroom in my house. There was water leaking from one of the recessed lights so i removed it and checked the floorboard above but it was completely dry. The wall next to the light feels like mush which means water is coming from the side of the house. I have cut through the drywall to see where the leak is coming from but once I cut through it and figure out the leak source, who should I call to get the hole in the wall fixed? I might need to get the entire wall replaced if the entire wall is ruined from the leak. If it's a pipe leaking I call a plumber but I have no idea who to call to get drywall repaired/replaced.
A drywall company of course. But the size of the job may make that hard.
If its just a repair, you maybe able to do it yourself (plenty of DIY vid's on YouTube) or call a painting contractor. They usually have guys that can do repairs or sections of walls.
