Same thing happened to me. It goes on all the time.

Anyway....here's what's broken this week (besides some American companies). A section of our wood fence has come apart from the post. DH has a bunch of time this week, so I'm sure he'll get it fixed.

Joined a program where the power company puts a thermostat in that they can control on hot days (Las Vegas) and the difference between it and our thermometer in the family room wasn't making sense.

So last night we taped our digital thermostat above it and it registered 5 degrees warmer than the wall thermostat. This morning I was at Lowes so I bought a regular thermostat (non-digital) and taped it above the one on the wall. 5 degrees warmer.

Time to call and get a replacement.

This morning, one of our smoke alarms is beeping for no reason. They are hard wired, not battery, so we have no idea how to make it stop except to disconnect it. It is probably 1989 vintage, so I guess it needs to be replaced, or maybe just cleaned or something. No clue at this point, but my ears hurt.

Our well water radon bubble up system stopped working this past weekend, well actually it was still working it was just heating up the cold water (alot) so my thought is the motor is over working itself and about to blow itself out.

also our boiler was cleaned this week, tech pretty much said it was at the end of its life and tried to sell me a new one. at 5-7k I think ill wait for it to die..

Every time we get our HVAC check up the guy tells us our system is getting old. We just decided to wait and see who goes first; it or us.

A storm ripped off a strip of siding from my second story, and flooded a window air conditioner. That, fortunately, repaired itself. The dishwasher is making weird noises, and the shutoff valve to the ice cube maker in the fridge didn't shut anything off when the water supply tube sprung a leak.

The pneumatic screen door closure thing popped off my back door a few weeks ago. It actually made a big snapping noise and parts flew everywhere. My son just came over and installed a new one at foot level. You press a bar with your foot to prop it open. Who knew? Now I'm getting used to not pulling the door shut behind me.

How far does the door open? I've been trying to find one that will let the door open past 45 degrees and have pretty much given up.
