I really hate that I'm having to ask this question, but a squirrel or mouse (likely more than one, but I'd really rather not think about it) is inside the walls of my finished basement! Unlike many finished basements, mine doesn't have a drop ceiling which would allow access to the walls via ceiling tiles. It is a finished sheetrock ceiling just like the main floor of the house.

How can I deal with this?

Can you identify entry/exit points that the animal may use to to get in and out?

If so, that is where I'd place some live (or snap) traps.
