Well it looks better than that ugly dark red brick that everyone in the South seems to be using nowadays.

You don't want to pick a brick that's only available on the west coast- shipping to the east coast drives up the cost.

Anyway, here's the list of manufacturers-

I realize the OP may not have access to Acme brick, but I love that design tool and similar colors should be available from whoever eventually supples the brick.

Don't get so set on one color- mortar color can change the whole perspective of what a brick will look like- along with siding, trim, and accent colors.

Did you already sign off on your original choice at the design center? If so, this is all moot unless you're willing to pay a change fee.

What color brick? I'd have to see the elevation if the actual house and I would NOT pick the same one as ny immediate neighbors. I'd agree with those early posts warning against using all browns.

I prefer red brick houses; I think it is a classic look. However, it's completely dependent on the part of the country you are building, and your own personal preferences. From Triangle, I like the Cape Cod or the Coventry. It's a completely different look from what you are going for.

I think the Charleston is a good choice (probably the best choice) if you are going for a tan brick.

I think Charleston is my favorite out of all of those from Triangle. I'm not a fan of red, but of the reddish colored ones Old Charlotte is my favorite.

Why aren't you driving the other Ryland communities to see the brick in actual daylight being used on a house? Looking at a picture isn't going to show you the true color. Drive around and write down addresses and they can pull the brick name for you.

I liked the third one, Southern Coastal Charm. With all that brown and tan in your home, I'd recommend getting your front door painted in an accent color, and I don't mean dark brown!

Well, I am trying to do that but just wanted to get some opinion from the forum. I'll do that this weekend. One challenge though is that when I told my sales agent a couple of houses I liked, she told me that those houses are old and Ryland might not be offering the same brick anymore. I am not aware of new construction where I may be able to check out the brick unfortunately.

I haven't signed on the brick yet. I'll be doing that this Friday and hence looking for opinions.

Thanks
