I need some...fasteners, but I can't think what they are called so can't find them or ask for them! Here's the story. I have casement windows. The screens fasteners are starting to get a little loose and I am concerned about a cat pulling one out when I am not home. I want those little faster things that I can screw into the wood frame, that I can turn over the screen frame, or turn away from it if I need to take the screen off.

Picture those little things on the back of picture frames, to hold the back on. I need something that does what those do. I know they are out there, I just don't know what they are called. I spent some time at Lowe's this morning but they were busy and I gave up waiting for someone to help me and left.

What are they called so I can find them!

Thanks all.

Thank you all but no those are not what I mean. See this little gadget on the picture frame? How you can slide it over to hold the back in place, or slide it aside to take the back off?

This is what I want. But the type that operates with a screw, to hold something in place, except when you want to release it.

I KNOW they make them, I've seen them but I can't think what they are called. They are kind of.....butterfly shaped but very narrow wings.

I've seen some turn buttons with only one wing which seems to be used on really old style house screens. Our house was built in the '50's so the screens are hung from some sort of screen hanger thing and held in at the bottom with a hook and eye. These hangers are good since the window can be swung outward while still hanging from the hangers. Handy for letting moths or geckos out of the house.
