Working on painting our new daughters room from the prior owners choice of pink . I scraped down a lot of little spots and imperfections as they weren't the best painters. Now the closet apparently had been holed up numerous times with poor Spackling and cover jobs throughout. I realize it's a closer but I'm OCD and a bit of a perfectionist so I want it to look right.

The question is would you spend the time spackling all of this or just taping and muffing or just mudding. I'm not concerned about drying time and the Kilz goes on next before top coat. Both sides of the closet look like this.

Indent the holes then fill with 20min mud- will need 2-3 applications; sand and paint.

Vacuum the holes, indent, use several layers of spackling compound.
