I prefer the glass doors, which I have for my tub (not transparent, which makes "cleaning" not as big of a pain in the butt). Shower curtains can be nice, too, but the doors are just more convenient for me.

I've always preferred doors simply because I like as much light in the shower as I can get and hate the way curtains/liners can blow inward and stick to your body. But both those issues are fixable with a curtain: a light can be installed above the shower if you own the house and have some skill, and/or there are curtains with 'windows', or just get a completely clear cheap liner and toss it every month or so. The blowing inward can be solved for $40 and a screwdriver with a curved rod. This actually ends up giving more space than the doors would which is really nice, of everything I wish we'd done in our apartment years ago this beats all else!

Some issues with the doors: difficult to grab at things outside the tub, can't sit on the rim, worry about kids breaking them, pain in the butt to keep clean, only really look good when you've spent lots of money on them - otherwise they look trashy and cheap.

So yeah, when we purchase a home soon I think we're going to go with nice looking curtains, curved rods, install a light in the shower, and call it good. Lots of room to move, easy cleaning, plenty of light. Not sure what else I could want in a shower access system

I like Shower Doors as well but there is more cleaning required and you will want to keep the doors open on the shower for part of the day so you don't have too much humidity built up in the shower. You can get shower doors with built in towel holders which are handy.

I prefer doors. My winter home has a shower with a glass door that is hinged. My primary home has a shower with a curtain. One thing I hate about it is that it will billow inward when I'm taking a shower.

I do not like the doors on a tub/shower combo, there I would use the curtain.

However, my current home has a shower only and the glass doors are very nice. It is frameless and opens either in or out. Very easy to keep clean with just a quick squeegee at the end of each shower. I even do the tile walls and now rarely have to scrub the shower.

A liner with weights/magnets should take care of that. I'm surprised at the number of posters who have this issue.
