On a new, fresh from big box fence post, does one still apply wood preservative to the bottom 2 feet? Even if the wood is still damp from chemical treatment? The last posts I put up were fairly dry and took the preservative well. I'm just concerned that if I have to wait for it to dry out, this will delay me again after several rain delays. But if I have to wait, I'll definitely do that. At least I finished the holes today.
What does the product information say online? Normally wooden posts are already treated for ground contact so you shouldn't have to mess with it. Don't know why it would still be damp they don't treat them at the store they treat them then ship them. The only time you need to treat wood is after a cut, assuming you had ground contact PT lumber to begin with.
