I've been ordering my fridge filters online with no problems until recently.

The last 2, from different suppliers, don't fit, even though they are clearly labeled "MWF" just like the old ones that do fit.

The screw-in portion of the old ones have a pair of wings, while the new ones (K&J) have a continuous ring. I've wiggled and jiggled, to no avail.

Any suggestions for finding filters that fit?

We drink the water from the fridge because the filtration makes it taste better. When the filters get old, I can taste the difference, so just resetting the fridge isn't a solution. I had one last good one, but that'll need replaced in about 4 months...

And another thing...I did check my fridge specs, they say use MWF filters. When I look at MWF filters online, they either don't show the top or show tops like the wrong one instead of the one that fits. I'm starting to think my fridge and I have slipped over from an alternate universe, where MWF filters have wings.

If you can, would you post a picture of the old and new filter, and the fridge model? Or go to the store and ask for filter that is exactly like yours?

is the picture not showing up? I put it in the middle of my first post.

http://wingsnthings.tripod.com/pictures/filter.jpg is the link to the picture (hosted on my website).

OK, I tried another browser, and the picture doesn't show up. And the direct link doesn't work, either.

Is there a trick to this I don't understand? Hosting on my site has always worked in the past, though I've never tried it on this forum...

Update: on my computer, the picture shows in Edge, MSIE, and in Chrome. It doesn't show in Firefox.

GE changed the top style on this filter at some point and all the other manufacturers matched it. There's still wings, you can see them at 4 o'clock and 10 o'clock in the picture. It should fit.

I can see the picture now.
Both filters have the same model number?

The wings look different. The old filter has longer wings that reach to the edges of the filter. That might make the difference.
I wonder if Aqua Clean would fit better. On the picture the wings seem to be closer to the edge.
Don't know your fridge model.

What about this Supco filter?

The new filters simply don't fit; I've tried it several times.
Both old and new are labeled "MWF", the correct model number for my fridge.

^^^^^ This Supco filter looks like your old filter. Check the picture #5 from that link. I added it after your response.

Also this seems to look like your old filter too:

And the EcoAqua looks like your old filter:

All three tops looks like your filter on the right, not like the one on the left,
