We drink the water from the fridge because the filtration makes it taste better. When the filters get old, I can taste the difference, so just resetting the fridge isn't a solution. I had one last good one, but that'll need replaced in about 4 months...
And another thing...I did check my fridge specs, they say use MWF filters. When I look at MWF filters online, they either don't show the top or show tops like the wrong one instead of the one that fits. I'm starting to think my fridge and I have slipped over from an alternate universe, where MWF filters have wings.
If you can, would you post a picture of the old and new filter, and the fridge model? Or go to the store and ask for filter that is exactly like yours?
GE changed the top style on this filter at some point and all the other manufacturers matched it. There's still wings, you can see them at 4 o'clock and 10 o'clock in the picture. It should fit.

The wings look different. The old filter has longer wings that reach to the edges of the filter. That might make the difference.
I wonder if Aqua Clean would fit better. On the picture the wings seem to be closer to the edge.
Don't know your fridge model.

Thanks! The Supco does look right, I've ordered one (last one they had). Hope it works!
