I want to remove the covers and replace them with something better looking. I don't like the color I want to buy a solid color.

Assuming your pictures are sideways...it's called a valence.

When I click on the picture, my iPad automatically straightens out the picture.

Yes, those are called vallances. You may be able to just slide the patterned part out and just replace the insert.

Thanks. But the ones I am seeing online are not short like the ones I have. They seem to be for curtain rods. This one isn't hanging from a curtain rod.

I would call it a lambrequin, if it is hard and solid. To me, a valance is soft and fabric.

It's soft its just attached to the top part which is hard and curves a little.

Yes; the elusive "second" vowel. "Valence" is one of those very generic terms- the OP's pic's were definitely a pelmet, as opposed to other types of "valences".
