We got a swing set off of Freecycle. I mean it was so sad that when I pulled up I almost left lol. Got that thing home, powerwashed it, stained it and it's beautiful now. Almost new. I was going to send pics to the previous owner but I was afraid they would want it back
Sounds like an awesome idea I'm thinking of buying a used wooden swingset and maybe I'll stain it to spiff it up. How has your staining held up (what kind did u use)? Can you share before and after pictures? Also, did you need to replace any of the wood, therefore staining both old and new woods?

Thanks! I got some stain from Habitat for $5 a gallon. I believe it was redwood but I will have to check the brand. The color was very dark and rich when I did it. It's a bit faded but still looks great. I will have to see if I can get some pics for you. Super easy project really, you almost can't mess it up.

It really depends on the type of wood. If something like cypress I have found that teak cleaner and finishes obtained at marine stores works very well. If such wood you really don't want anything that seals the wood if exposed to mositure;let the natural wood do it job. Teal fiinish just adds mostiure and a wearble coating to the wood and the cleaner work by applying then hosing off.
