Posting this here because i'm hoping we got an electrician that can tell me the proper term so I can order one of these.
In the pic, I would call that a grommet.. But, apparently I would be wrong.
This is from an APC UPS.. We ordered a replacement battery kit for it from a non-APC source and the 'grommet' on it is straight through vs right angle.. Doesn't interfere with it working, but interferes with someone I work with who just won't shut up about it.
Short of a hammer, which should fix the problem (It'd shut him up if I smacked him with it).. What the hell is that called so I can order right angle ones?
Is it a strain relief? I'm getting close.. Buckle, Bushing..
Close. But you can see in the pic.. The wires pass through it.
What you posted appears to be the 'outside' of a plug. If you had a right angle wall plug and the 'cover' came off it.. That's what you'd replace it with.
I'm starting to think the reason the replacement came with a straight through is that maybe APC had these specially made or something. I can't find them anywhere.
I've never seen one like that. In a supply shop, you would ask for a right angle cable strain relief grommet and give the size of the chassis hole and cable. You might try Mouser electronics.
Looks really close. Thank you. For $30.. Maybe worth the gamble. Though, the wire on that UPS is pretty thick and that strain relief looks a tad small.. Again.. $30, might be worth rolling the dice.

Try Digi-Key or McMaster-Carr.
Or, if the installation doesn't really need to force the cable into a right angle right where it leaves the box, use a straight-through one.
It's not.. Entirely necessary.. But.. Yeah.. I should have thought about DigiKey. That's a damn good idea. Seeing as I only need 2 of them.. Certainly worth checking Digikey.
Again, about half of it is just shutting up one anal retentive guy. Saved $150 on the battery pack and he's all up in arms about a strain relief going the wrong way, which doesn't interfere with anything.

*shrug* Take a straight thru, clip one side, wrap the cable in teflon tape where it passes thru, grab some black zip ties and a glue gun. Pull the cable into position, push the cable ties thru the glue gun and on to the remaining strain relief. Charge $50 and remain silent.
or - if a right angled relief is needed, drill a hole in the side of the chassis, block the old hole and use a regular relief.
or - put a C socket in the side of the case and find an old C-cord.
or - tell him to get a life.
