I know this has been discussed before but am looking for a specific answer to my question. Can the Dyson Animal be used on both carpet/tile/wood flooring? I have a brat cat and I need help picking that hair up especially on the carpet stairs. I just wanted to find out others opinions before I drop like $450. TIA
I don't have the animal, I have the Ball, and it has a button that turns off the brushes if you are vacuuming bare floors. I think it's probably standard on all the Dysons, but check the specifications to make sure. I have two cats and there's always stuff that the Dyson picks up even if I vacuum everyday.
I hope someone answers you, because I've thought of buying the Pet Hair Dyson, but don't know how this differs from the other types. Does this mean the others don't do well on pet hair? If I get the Pet hair model, and then at some point don't have pet hair, would it work as well as another models? So confusing.
I guess what I'm trying to say is..Shouldn't ANY expensive vacuum cleaner pick up pet hair?
I can only go with my own personal experience, but my Dyson is very well worth its price. I can't count how many other lesser vacuums I've owned, from the bagged hoovers to the windtunnels. But they all have had many flaws, the biggest of which is that eventually you lose suction for one reason or another. The Dyson I have started strong and has continued strong, there's no let up on its cleaning capability. Again I can't speak for other 'expensive' brands, they all probably work just as well. I haven't had any problems with cat hair even though I don't have the Animal model.
I have the DC 14 All Floors and it adjusts great to carpet versus wood versus congoleum floors. I have four dogs and am amazed by how well this vacuum picks up everything! I'm not sure what the difference is between the DC 14 All Floors and the DC 14 Animal but I'm sure there is a difference. Go to the Dyson site and compare the models.
If I'm getting great results from the DC 14 All Floors with my four dogs, I think you'd be pleased with it. And you can get one priced MUCH less than $450 now. I paid $340 for mine and I saw that Sears had Dysons on sale recently. They were offering the DC 24 Ball model for about $340.
Have one and it works great for my cats on all floor surfaces. Only thing that trumps it is central vac which I have in my new house so the dyson hangs out in the closet now
Mine seems to have lost some of the awesome suction it came with. I clean it and wash the filter, but still not enough umph. I have two hairy, English Mastiffs that shed all year. I am wondering if the Animal is the way to go.
The dyson vacuum did not come out very well in consumer reports test. Their findings is that it is way over cost to comparable vacuums.There were in fact better vacuums for alot less.
Well I was able to pick up a Dyson Animal at HD. Seems they had one way up top and brought it to the floor. I got it for 359 plus my 10 percent off. It was retail for 550.
Isn't the animal(the purple one) and the yellow one the same...thought the only difference were the attachments?
We have the yellow one and its amazing with pet hair.
