I live in ME...we put things on the side of the road WANTING people to come and take them.
Other than that...even the passing out parts, I don't see my neighbors from my land. When I lived in the city, I'm sure someone would have called the police, thinking they were dead. When I lived in the city, my house was locked, so no one could come in "unannouced"
This was hilarious! I have never really thought about most of these things . . . but frankly, any of them would be at least mildly annoying - and some of them would be downright heinous!!!

I can't think who it was but some comedian said he had a washer and dryer to give away. They put it out in the front yard with a sign, "free! take me!"
Nobody would even stop and look at them for over a week. So he got smart, took that sign down, and put up another one "for sale". They were stolen the first night!

LOL. I once put a toilet out by the road. It was ugly too, avacado green from the 70's. The next day I looked outside and saw a man putting it into his trunk. Why in the world would someone want a used green toilet?

I had an uncle who put an old toilet in front of their summer cottage, and he potted flowers in it. He eponymously called it the 'Schmidt House'!
In a neighborhood I left in 2003 (sold my home), my neighbors:
-Rented out a bedroom / bedrooms to tenants (actually added on to the house and rented out everything they could including the garage)
-Paved over their front lawn to accomodate more parking
-Regularly got in loud arguments
Additionally they hung laundry to dry over the fence between our properties, parked in front of my driveway, parked in my driveway, had a party end up as a huge brawl in my front yard, and had drunk friends mistake my home for theirs and try to break-in during the night. The last almost got someone killed. My wife was pregnant at the time and I was in a "take no prisoners" mood!
I've seriously considered paving my yard. My reason though, is because I'm allergic to grass and am getting tired of being sick all the time. I figured I should concrete the yard and paint it green.
I have a neighbor that used to complain because we didn't mow our yard the same time he did and he was sick of the uneven line marking the property. I told him that I was allergic to grass and was planning on paving over my yard and he had a fit, although he never complained about the different mowing times again.
