That nationwide mattress retailer that recently changed their name to 'MattressFirm'?

Which name do you prefer for them?

"Out of Business" would be a good one. Every little burb and village around here seems to have three or four mattress stores. Like shooting and stabbing admissions to the ER, that would seem to be excessive.

I am shocked at the lack of responses to this poll! Sleepy's/Mattress Firm is a national chain! It's like if Avis rent-a-car changed its name. smh

Changed their name or were purchased by Mattress Firm? Mattress Firm has been around for quite a while. I actually hadn't heard of Sleepy's until just a couple of years ago.

I pay no attention to the names on mattress stores. Most ofhtem are scammy. I am never going to go into one, so why should I cae what names are on them. There are all kinds of chain names that pop up all over change their names change again, who cares?

Now if one had an honest name like "Mattress Scam", or "Clever salesmen will lie to you and rip you off store" something that actually describes mattress stores - I would be impressed and take notice

Sleepy's was big in my area. Heard many of bad story about their practices. When I closed on my condo back in March, I needed a mattress. So I decided I should just go to Sleepy's instead of a big box store because it's smaller and can get the attention from the sales guy I need because I found mattresses to be very intimidating to shop for when I never have before. I couldn't find any. I only saw this unknown "Mattress Firm" in every Sleepy's location I remembered. Guy there was pretty good but I didn't close yet so no point in ordering one and I told him. But he made it easy on me. Went home and looked up what happened to Sleepy's. Apparently, they were in a lot of trouble and Mattress Firm wanted to move into the New Jersey market, so they bought Sleepy's and changed the name. Looking up the company too, they were a lot more ethical in their practices than Sleepy's was. Either way, I bought my mattress at Raymour and Flanigan, lol.

Smarter people have said: "What's in a name?"

Mattress Firm bought out Sleep Train, the name wasn't changed. So now the chain is larger.
