I have an AC/Heating problem. My wife and I live in a rancher with an attached garage. We had the builder run ducts above the garage as we were going to finish the upstairs. Well we finished the upstairs and now it won't cool. I checked the unit and it is blowing very cold air into the ducts. I added an inline fan to help but I only feel a little air moving out the vent, and it is not cool at all.

The attic is insulated with blown in insulation and there is a small return in the room.

Any suggestions?

Only 2 things I can think of:

The Duct is leaking as in disconnected

or

The Duck is blocked as in crushed or has an in-line damper to control flow.

Did the contractor rebalance the system after the new area was added?

You may need to restrict existing flow slightly to get the CFMs to the new addition. Air follows the path of least resistance.
