Does public transportation exist between Hobby Airport and Sugar Land? The taxis are so expensive!!!?

I want a subway for a couple of bucks.... but I'll take a taxi cheaper than $70.

The short answer is no.

If it's more than one person, renting a car is for sure the cheapest way to go.

If you're going from Hobby to Sugarland make sure to ask if the car has an EZ-Tag otherwise it's a much longer trip if you have to use surface streets and the freeways.

Yes, there is public transport, but it will take a while. You will probably have to take the 88 bus from Hobby Airport to get to downtown and then take a Park n Ride bus to the W. Bellfort station, which is about as close as public transportation will get you to Sugarland. From there, you can take a taxi, which would be a lot cheaper than taking a taxi all the way from Hobby Airport to Sugarland.

Go to http://www.ridemetro.org to look around. There is a system map that will show you all routes.

Sugar Land is one of the most Republican parts of the United States (or at least was at one point). They're not all that big on public transportation. Sugar Land isn't a member city of METRO.

The directions that glorplaxy are correct, however be advised that the 88 from Hobby to Downtown is AT LEAST a 45 minute ride. It can be much longer factoring in traffic and stops. And this is only taking you to Downtown. LOL I've ridden it many times.

My advice would be to take the Super Shuttle. It's like 30 bucks and there's no transfer.

Doing what glorplaxy suggests I guess would take at least 3 hours. (There's no telling how long you will be waiting for a cab and you're relying on two long bus routes).

Also, "Sugar Land" is two words.
