try sitting this morning on 610 and waiting 35 minutes just to get from Bellaire and I-10 which is a 5 minute drive normally....we don't need rail?

These politicians are something else....wish I could get them in a room with something sharp..lol

As disappointed as I am about this, I'm no so sure i'm willing to call "Uncle" on this one. Look what happened when all the funds were blocked for rail before the 1st line opened between 1999 and 2004? Metro went ahead and paid for it themselves.

Not saying that this will happen for this line, but it's possible they might be able to get the money from somewhere if they are so determined. It just makes no sense to kill such a vital artery to Houston's lightrail system after all the progress it's made. Call it wishful thinking, but I'm really thinking something might be happening behind the scenes as we speak to at least get part of the line started before 12 years from now.

"Dallas" trumps partisanship here in Houston!

Being the largest city in Texas and the 4th largest in the country, I can only hope that Houston extends its light rail to the suburbs, considering how large the area is and how many people live in areas such as The Woodlands, Conroe, Sugarland, and Rosenberg.
