Hey, considering a move to Houston. What are some
diverse areas in Houston that have
variety in it's housing stock (not those generic new cookie-cutter communities where every house looks the same with little to no variation).
I prefer a
community with houses , not urban high density communities with high-rises, etc.

You need to look at custom high-end homes or look at older neighborhoods with great architecture. West University, Memorial, Southhampton, The Heights, Glenbrook Valley, Idylwood, etc.

Even the densest parts of Houston aren't dense in the old NE city-meaning. With that said, inside 610, inside Sam Houston Tollway on the west, southwest, and northwest sides are probably what you are thinking about. Lots of old (1900s-1960s) neighborhoods with varying degrees of diversity (in both culture, housing stock, and prices).

^Is that too much? Because I heard Houston was very cheap in terms of cost of living compared to most places.

Sounds like either Spring Branch, Clear Lake, Sugar Land, or Katy would be a good fit. However Houston as a whole is pretty diverse/integrated compared with most cities.

I'm only one person so i'm only looking for a 2-3 bedroom one floor home with a Swimming Pool. The smallest house on the block would be perfect!
