More Traffic... and more laughter from non-sugar land-ians... 'skeeters' - for heaven's sake - couldnt we come up with a better name.... i can see headlines like 'Skeeters Squashed', 'Skeeters Bite 6', 'Skeeters Fogged',

You know we've got gators, copperheads, water moccasins, bobcats, javelinas, snapping turtles, even congo eels - all kinds of stuff here that is menacing yet not a pestilence! Yet they chose mosquitos.

Perhaps they wanted a mascot represntative of the signs in front of First Colony businesses. They are equally miniscule.

Imperial Sugar Company gave permission for them to use "Imperials" - that would have been SO much better!

they invited suggestions and I think about 8000 names came up but the final 3 were selected by the "people who matter" and they came up with

- Lizard Kings
- King Canes
- Skeeters...

I believe this selection was done under heavy influence of alcohol and other unmentionable stuff.

well, your wish may not really be granted since the stadium seats 7000 and s'land's population is higher than that... so you will still see us on Washington Avenue.
