Harris County Hospital District has several clinics around the Houston area that offer low cost dental services.

to access HCHD services (i.e. getting a gold card or access to the free clinics) you have to be a resident of Harris County and be able to verify it. just in case not all of pasadena is located in harris county

Does Houston have a dental school? I know San Antonio does -- those are usually good bets, since they'll give you discounted services to be guinea pigs for their students.

i know one of the dental schools did something like this but it was very sporadic. harris county does have health fairs every once in awhile but typically you have to RSVP for it (even the homeless!). one thing Houston is not good at - making things accessible to those in need

maybe things have changed in the past year. depending on how bad things have gotten for you i would suggest asking family for money and saving up to pay a cheaper dental practice out of pocket

I tried that...it was a nightmare. I wouldn't recommend this route unless you absolutely can't find any other alternative.

I've used dental schools for cleanings, but not surgery. Try going to Mexico.

I had to pay for be completely paid in full at my third appointment im also on a fix income. I ask the doctor if he could do something about the gap. My gap was small but age and lost of teeth it has spread as if i lost a tooth.. My gum get irritated, food and salavor escape . my tonque rest between the space of my front teeth it feels like by tongue is beimg scraped and speech and pronunciation is horriable. It so embarrassing. The doctor stated he can do anything because the rules prohibited any dentail work of that nature because diastema (gap) is not medical need relating to they guideline. If any one knows and dr. That would repair my mouth for free please let me know
