I have heard people paying $500-$750 electric bills in Dallas and it is something. Don't you think it is a little excessive if those numbers are true? Please help me understand this and learn what to expect. Any input is Appreciated.

$280 on the current bill. 1900 Sq ft, single-storey. Usually keep thermostat @ 78-80. That's $100 more than last month because kids kept leaving the house doors open all day to play and chat with friends and the refrigerators in the garage too. I'm glad school is back in session!

We pay about $320 a month in San Antonio and I understand our prices are a little lower the Houstons companies and thats for 2400 sq ft one story. Two story is going to be alot different from what I hear. Thats keeping about 76-78 degrees

and when you say "winter" which months do you mean? I mean Tx is different so I do not know what "winter" means to you guys.

Winter to me when the heat is on is Dec and Jan. maybe alittle in Feb. I lived for a few years in NE so the "winters" here are nothing to me now that I moved back!

2 story- 2100 sf $400 and that is keeping air at 80 and sitting around in the dark most of the time. It is really really really hot here. (I'm in the woodlands texas, a little north of houston)

I moved in a new house in The Woodlands in April. Monthly bills have ranged from $280-320, in a 2-story 2500 sq. ft. home.
Seems outrageous to me, considering in Florida my summer electric bills were $200-240. per month.
