Any knowledge + IT is where the money is at. Finance + IT, thats a killer combo in any industry, especially in investment banking. Right now i'm in a Dodd-Frank related gig

What type of IT related to finance would be good to look into?

you dont need to know much computers are calculators already, you just need to punch in the numbers, generate the reports and present the report as an IT personnel, rather than a MBAFinance dude and that makes all the difference. They'll think you're a hybrid brainiac.

Statistics is pretty useful from reporting trends, managing risks and even coding high speed trading logic.
If you can talk the trader linggo you can be a 'business analyst' or 'specialist', communicating requirements to the lowly IT people. Lots of possibilities really. I'm personally not trained for any of this but real finance/IT combo guys are just not enough so I have to fill in
