In another thread asking about the worst roads in Houston, I volunteered Almeda between Alabama and OST.

I've changed my mind. The worst chunk of crap road in Houston is Greenbriar between University and Main Street. It's like four-wheeling.

Buffalo speedway between brasewood and bissonett is a piece of sh*t road. With all the Million dollar houses in West U, you would think they would have decent roads.

I have a friend that lives in the area and told me the neighbors were fighting to keep the roads like that... the worse it was, the less people that would drive through... Kirby south of 59 was like that, heading into West U... they have been fixing it for the past year or so... much more traffic now...

Kirkwood between Briar Forest and I-10.

There are sections of the road where 2 side by side lanes have a 6 inch drop off in between.

I thought Kirby (before they repaved it) was bad, but I was just on Dairy Ashford south of I-10 the other night and there are some serious wheel bending potholes on that road. Horrible. And there's some expensive neighborhoods over there.

Houston roads are not all that bad:
A new survey of road conditions in America's biggest cities ranked Houston as the 28th worst, with up to a quarter of its highways and major roads in poor condition. Dallas-Fort Worth placed 20th, with more than a third of its major roadways in poor shape; San Antonio is worse still, placing 16th with 39 percent.
