The only place I know is Ranch Market on I-10 but there are only a few wild caught fish there

Other place is Viet Hoa on Beechnut and Beltway 8 but then none of the fish is marked as wild or farm. I asked the fish cleaners there and of course they said it is wild caught but they are lieing.

H Mart: Fish is not fresh almost rotten

Fiesta: Fish is rotten

Hong Kong Market on Bellaire Blvd: Fish does not have label if farm or wild.

Wholefoods: No whole real fish only fillet

Anywhere else I can find wild caught fish? I am in Galleria by the way.

J&J or Fountainview Fish market. Fountain View gets 24 hour old Halibut flown in, but call to check. Most things are caught in the Gulf.

Ranch 99 and H mart stinks like fish, and the eyes are all cloudy. No thanks.

One thing is for sure, Houston has a horrible selection of fresh fish.

Just make a bunch of room in your freezer and take a trip to Seabrook. At least it's closer than Galveston, and those places open early on weekends when there is basically no traffic.

Or enjoy your cloudy eyes...

I wouldn't trust anything pulled from waters around Houston, out of nasty Galveston Bay (home of the lovely ship channel dumping grounds), or around Galveston. Maybe down the coast though; San Luis Pass and farther southwestward, but avoiding any major rivers emptying into the Gulf (i.e. the Brazos, etc.)

Screw it, just buy from the Pacific NW or somewhere where they give a damn about the water quality. Too risky around here.
