Better than no fans showing up.

Boise State lost.. which was bizarre.. but hey thats a good thing for them COOGS...

Now only to win out our games.. which are cupcake teams except for Tulsa and the conference championship... and these are the COOGS who a couple years ago beat Oklahoma State(in stillwater) and Texas Tech only to go to El Paso and lose to UTEP... But hey thats what makes these COOGS SOO EXCITING!!

PS: My Ducks are in the top 5 once again.. so I'm definitely a happy camper!! lol

This is a big event, once in a lifetime for the Houston area. The more fans, the better. Let's enjoy it!

Off and on. They were an independent in the beginning I believe. They scratched their way into the Southwest Conference (after a few rejections) and proceeded to win the conference a few times. They beat teams like Nebraska and Maryland in the cotton bowl. They were in the top 10 pretty regular back then and held their own against everyone on the conference. They had another spurt in the late 80's-early 90's, had a heisman winner in '89, and rose as high as #3 in the rankings. Then came the BCS where UH, Rice, TCU, and SMU were banished to weaker conferences after some secret meetings and good 'ol boy politics ... and the wheels fell off the wagon.

On equal ground, UH competed well with other schools that had 5+ times the resources and budget. It's kinda like UAB vs UAlabama, except UH used to be in the same conference as the big boys. It's taken a while, but they have done well given the hand they were dealt.

I hope it's not like that because UAB is sorry! LOL!

Haha I meant that Alabama probably calls the shots in the state (Auburn too). I read sports forums a lot, and UAB fans generally feel that if they attempt anything that threatens UA they are immediately shot down. Same with UH right now (wasn't always that way), although that is changing.
