You can't be from NYC and complain about people being rude. I did the move 6 years ago, and I like it here from November to May. The Woodlands is alright if you like suburban living, personally I don't. $1000 gets you a nice apartment in the Medical Center area, if your looking for homes in that price range, perhaps Willowbend area will suit you fine. Good Luck, btw not all Houstonians are rude, and if they are its a cake walk compare to the folks back home.

Born and Raised....I am not complaining about rudeness, I am just pointing out the negative response they're giving me for a simple matter.
Like are they really mad for the CAPS or they just have nothing else to do and decide to waste their time to write so much negativity? Im over it anyways.
Thanks for your post, has been very helpful. I will definitly search around the Medical Center area. I am so excited can't wait to go visit. I heard that is very humid but I think I can live with that. I also heard that I will need to have a car, that is also iin my plans.
I do know that not all Houstonians are rude, we just have rude people everywhere. I ignore them, is the smart thing to do.
I will keep on searching I've seen many apartments that I have loved so far, hope they are as great in person.
I think I can live around the Med Center area for renting and when I am ready to start a family and buy a house move to The Woodlands.
Thanks You really got me thinking about my options, I appreciate it.

NY everything here is cheap in some what,gas price are the lowest in the us.houston is booming 4th largest city in the us.downtown houston is the oil capital of the world.the food is cheap here,cars are cheap ,even the cost of living,whetther you buy or rent.the people are nice in somewhat,still got rude people here,even racism.lol.texas is big,got lots of room.lots of land to buy.

I wouldn't recommend the Woodlands. I'd recommend moving to Houston, renting, THEN exploring the neighboring areas for more long term housing (Woodlands, Sugar Land, etc). The Med Center area or near the Galleria are interesting. You should visit on vacation and look around.

That is what attracts me the most....It is a big city, I've heard that it has a great job opportunity and so forth. What I like the most that I can get more space than what I get here for the price I put in my monthly rent, Many apartments look really nice in the pictures.
I am planning to visit in May......hope I really like it as much as I read about it, I am s excited...can't wait to visit!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for the insight =-)

Yes that is exactly what I have heard from others too, that is why I definitely will like to check it out in May before I completely make the decision to move permanently.
I have heard many good things about the areas of the Med Center area and the Galleria. I will put those two options as my main points when I go visit thanks again =-)
