A west Houston bakery is off SH6 just south of Westheimer. Its called bon vivant. The owner worked was dessert and bakery chef at 4 Seasons hotel before opening this shop. His pastery, cakes and danish are to die for.

Yeah, Oh-lalala just opened their 3rd store in Town Country, although the one on the north side of I-10 in Katy shouldn't really count as that's just a service counter in their kitchen and not a full size store like the other two...

I've sampled quite a few cupcake bakeries around Houston (courtesy of my fiance), and I must say, Katy and the surrounding areas do not have any great cupcake places...yet
. I'm not crazy about Ohh La La...has a taste similar to what you get from a grocery store. But, of course, that's just my opinion. Not that it's bad, but it's basically sugar cake with caked on icing.
My top two places for cupcakes, hands down are:
1. Treat Cupcakes
2. Crave Cupcakes
