be sure to ask if there are any other out of pocket expenses on top of that. these people are crooks and will skip out on other end of year county expenses. where I live, they said property taxes were in the low 2%, but they didn't tell me there were other expenses like pid. these people just want to sell a house so they make their commission. they don't make money if you don't buy a house. of course, they county will burn you anyway and raise your appraisal at least 3% even if houses all aroudn are selling for less than they bought. welcome to land of the free....if you don't have kids, I'd say stay in a nice apartment. after taxes, insurance, maintenance, less worry, less driving/traffic, interest eating up your mortgage, you'll be ahead.
