hello, can you guys give me some advice on this. I was hit by a drunk driver in downtown. The police arrested that guy. Today I get a call from someone who say they are working for the district attorney office. They say they want to file charges on that guy. Is this normal? They want me to explain the situation. I don't know if this is the other party lawyer.

yes if the DA is going to charge the guy someone would likely be contacting you. BUT - if the drunk guy hired a lawyer he would likely also be trying to contact you saying he was working to prosecute the guy hoping you say something he can use to foul up the case.

before you say anything verify who they are/what they do

Contact the court and see which District Attorney is handling your case.

Ask for the case or docket number then you can verify charges have been filed by looking online for that case.
